The leader of the National People's Power (NPP) Anura Kumar Disanayaka became the 9th executive president of Sri Lanka by the election held on 21st of September. Following general election held on 14th November NPP was able to secure two-thirds power of the parliament by winning 159 seats out of 225 parliament seats. Certain foreign media has described this government as a Marxist government. The reason behind the seid narration was the radical and militant history of people's liberation front(commonly knows ad JVP) which is the steering force of NPP. The JVP was founded in the year 1965 as a radical left alternative to the traditional left parties such as socialist party (Sama samaja Party) and Communist Party which were deviated from Marxist leninist politics. Under the leadership of JVP there were two armed struggles in the year 1971 and 1987 - 89 against the atrocious capitalist regimes where those struggles were culminated after killing  comrade Rohana Wijeweera and the entire leadership of the party. After the year 1994 JVP was gradually converted to a revisionarism and fragmatism by concerntrating only on popular election politics. The very reason for the 2011 split inside the party was the  said rising trend of revisionism and pragmatism.

During the past decade JVP was completely sunk in the neoliberal capitalist agenda where establishment of NPP was the ultimate result  of the said ideological derailing. In the year 2005 JVP supported Mahindra rajapaksha who  was a nationalist leader,in the year 2010 they supported Sarath Fonseka who was a military leader and in the year 2015 JVP indirectly supported Maithreepala Sirisena whi was the common candidate of capitalist coalition. In the year 2019 for the first time JVP contested for the presidential election under the name of NPP where they were able to secure only 3% from the total valid votes. However within 5 years time they were able to get a massive escalation of their vote base due to the contemporary economic crisis and the 2022 peoples uprising commonly known as Aragalaya. The Aragalata was able to melt away the power of the traditional capitalist political parties. However the holistic aspirations of the Aragalaya was a system change where it had denied capitalist establishment such as Parliament ,executive presidency, constitution, neoliberal economic program media monopolies etc. the Frontline Socialist Party ( FSP) had endeavoured to steer the aspirations of Aragalaya towards a revolutionary change of the society. However the NPP has unfolded their strategy towards to strengthen the system by transforming people's radical aspirations towards electoral politics against corrupted  traditional capitalist political parties by promoting  neoliberal policy.

After expeling then president Gotabaya Rajapaksa by the aragalaya force Ranil Wickramasinghe who had only one seat of the Parliament was able to became the president of the country using constitutional provisions. Hence instead of uplifting the people's power towards a system change Wickramasinghe was able to temporary reset the capital establishment where the capitalist class and imperial forces handed over the balance portion of Ranil Wickramasinghe's mission to JVP through NPP betraying its progressive history against the capitalism. USA has openly supported NPP through US ambassador Julie Chang. India had invited Anura Kumara even prior to the elections and gave a reception as a state leader.

Although the international media wanted to recognise NPP government as a Marxist government In its manifesto there was no single word indicating Marxist principles or socialism. Furthermore they promised to go ahead with IMF program while stating that they would negotiate an alternative Debt sustainable analysis(DSA). NPP has strategically diluted the people's demand for a new constitution and abolishment of draconian laws. There is a deafening silent regarding imposing and recovering taxes from oligarchies and capitalists. The croni capitalist spent billions of money for the election campaign of NPP. The entire political campaign was against the corruption and existing political culture whereas they purposefully refrained from addressing the crisis of the capitalism and impact of neoliberal economy which has been carried out from 1978. Instead of denying traditional capitalist establishments, NPP wanted to portray a picture that sending uncorrupted members to the parliament would be the solution for the crisis of the system.

NPP government has already handed over the control of the most important state hubs to the upper layer of the capitalist class where the chairman of Ceylon Chamber of Commerce which is the largest organisation of capitalist class in Sri Lanka was appointed as the presidential advisor. Simultaneously government has expedited Wickramasinghe's IMF program and its austerity measures while totally connecting to the US embassy. While breaching its own promise of introducing alternative DSA they have declared Ranil Wickramasinghe's debt restructuring program which was contained in the agreement entered with ISB holding company is affirmed and in force from 20th December. Furthermore 2025 budget proposals will be totally compatible with IMF parameter and the third instalment of the IMF loan was granted based on the said assurance. Therefore the NPP government is running the country by satisfying the imperial agendas. The IMF program is not a mere economic program where it is a part of progressive Indian Ocean strategy on the imperial countries. Now Sri Lanka has become a puppet of imperial powers in the guise of left oriented progressive regime.

The entire capitalist system was in a trouble due to the recent economic crisis where Ranil Wickramasinghe was able to temporary reset the said system and dilute the criticisms on capitalism. The next stage of the capitalist class would be to temporary oxygenate the capitalism and build trust over the neoliberal system. The manifesto and the theme of the NPP was totally focused on that resettlement of the capitalist system. However in this era which is the downfall of capitalism mere reforms could not resolve the system crisis. Inevitably the existing government either will be a loyal agent of capitalism or they will will clear the ground for the capitalist class to continue their game of profit. FSP believe the left moment should get ready for both above consequences.

At the same time we believe  like the previous traditional capitalist parties NPP government will not be able to repress the masses. Therefore there is a possibility of expanding sphere of democracy. Still this government has an opportunity to at least bring certain reform to minimise the corruptions. However the crisis of capitalism will be remained. In other words there is a huge vacuum for a movement of prolatatiats.

Comradely regards,
